Have 102,000 on my ISL 2006 chassis. Bought it as a brand new leftover in 2008 and put all but 1,000 miles on it myself.
Just did a 6,000 mile trip last summer and take it between NJ and FL Keys a few times a year.
Had to invest about $8,500 into a radiator, after cooler, and some other components that were replaced as PM once engine was exposed.
Have total confidence in driving it long distances.

90k on our ISL 400hp. We only have 1500 mi on it ourselves (we are FT), I would have no problem heading out on a 2500 mi trip.

You probably wont. Considering most put at most 6K a year on one they (the owners) probably arnt around. Does that mean that there are no powerplants that are operational in them? No, not necessarily.
The rules of thumb are these.
The ISC/ISL block is rated at 500Kmiles for B50 (I think that's the term) overhaul. That basically means that 50percent of the engines will need at least rings at 500K miles due to sometype of loss of cylinder sealing (to the point that it would be more cost effective if the repair were performed as opposed to not). That is for OTR truck use which generally sees higher loads than MH use in for the same powerplant.
Further, most engines in the 100K range show generally no signs of iron when oil samples are taken. So any indication that wear or loss of cylinder sealing is imminent rare.
Your best friend is routine oil samples..

98 ISM 500
No issues.
Approximately 120 thousand miles.
Does not blow smoke
Uses little oil.
Full transmission service at 100,000 miles
Full engine service every 10 to 15 thousand miles.
We would leave out today for anyplace coast to coast.
I do need to get an oil test done one of these days.
At 110, thousand we changed the coolant.
I think 500 thousand plus miles as very plausible.

ah, speaking of high mileage (and this is a M series - which certainly does not benefit from better fuel metering)

It's not the miles, it's The Journey!
(I say this, because our July 2003 built ISL370, in a 2004 model coach - just got broken in clicking over $60K late last year !)
I've enjoyed reading about the miles some of you have on your rigs... And my goal, is to someday come back to this thread on future page 676 - and tell you we've hit 500K !
Keep the rubber side down. Just over that next hill, around the next curve. Remember it's the life your living, the scenes your seeing, the people your conversing with - as you all work your way through 'The Journey!'.
Best to all,
Smitty

Only 26,000 miles on my 09 ISX, I had 75,000 on my 04 ISM when I sold it and I have 40,000 on my 00 ISB when I sold it.

Interesting Mileage reports on here to say the least - but remember the old saying -- Use it or Loose it, Point being don't let your motor Homes sit with no use for long periods of time. Fire them up and warm them up more often than not.- I'm sure they'l last a lot longer.

I feel like the motorhome itself will fall apart before the motor will in this particular case!

One person mentioned 300K on a motorhome and wondering why not.
I think there are several reasons why not.
First -- things get out of date on the systems.
Next -- 300K indicates a long time which translates into a lot of year and tear on the interior, interiors really won't support that in my mind, so that RV would have had to be totally remodeled.
Finally --I think even full timers are not likely to get near that mileage as they would rather park and live somewhere, not spend all their time driving
Slight post highjacker -- but hopefully still a little relevent
Just my thoughts -- Dale

No highjack. I might have asked that question. Good perspective.
Safe travels

I'll add to my first post, that our longest trip was our Retirement Victory Tour to Canada/Alaska - just over 14K on that trip.
And I'll also comment on the ISC. The salesman that helped may by my rig, Steve Wilson Holland Motor Homes San Diego area (RIP Steve!), shared me his opinion on Cummins.
He said his first choice would be a pre 2004 ISM. Second choice would be the ISC, but only if it had the Banks Kit on it, as that put out (In his opinion safely.) more HP/Torque then the ISL's (Again in the before 2004 era.). He said he felt the ISL was a good engine too, but that you could not work it as hard as the ISC.
Now, he's not here to defend himself, and it was just a casual talk. But, I've always remembered his preference in engines. ISM, ISC (Banks), ISL, ISC (Non Banks.) ISB.... ISX's were few and far between in coaches in 2004 and earlier coaches (If at all?).
Best to all, may the miles add on safely,
Smitty

'02 ISL still going strong
Current mileage is 122,000 on our '02 Winnebago 40' with a 370 HP ISL.
Left Florida March 2 and we are now in Santa Fe NM.
The only issues we have had were related to black slime in the fuel and that was my fault.
We travel about 8,000 miles every summer all over the US and I have no qualms about heading out again.
