ISB 5.9 230hp Throttle Linkage issue

I'am updating my '94 Monaco RV's exhaust brake circuitry to eliminate foot switch and add a dash switch with circuitry that gets input from an throttle position switch.

The injector pump is operated mechanically with a short helm link to a main pivot arm that seems to be hydraulically operated... i assume from the 'gas' peddle..

Also connected to the main throttle arm is the cruise control cable and another short cable connected a "black box' that is of questionable function other than it is fitted with a three wire connector that I have not been able to trace.

The question is.... is there a throttle position switch in there some where and if not I need suggestions on where to install one. All I need is a switch contact indicating the throttle position is at or near idle... in a place that easy to get to. With the rear bed up there is fairly easy access to the top of the main throttle arm where a roller micro switch could be mounted.

Your engine is a B5.9, not an ISB- unless you replaced it.
That short cable goes to the throttle positioner(the black box) it tells the transmission at what throttle opening it needs to shift at.
Don't mess with that.
The hydraulic thingy you see is the air piston- air drives the throttle if you have air brakes on your MH.
Yes- you can replace the foot switch with an on-off switch. The PO on my 96 Monaco did. Just connect the wires from the foot switch to your on- off switch locating it where you can get to it easy.
Your exhaust brake should release when you get down to idle rpm- there is another black box called the VIM that automatically releases the EB when the switch is on.

Now I'm going to mention a device called Brake Switch. http:www.brakeswitch.com/
Read about it. I have this on my MH and it works fine for me.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out Brake Switch.
