I have a Dutch Star 2003,40 ' with a Cummins 8.3 L 350hp. I average just under 8 mph .

Question. Would a chip added to the system improve the milage?

I feel the performance is very good but would like to know information regarding millage. One to two mph would be helpfull with todays prices.

I have looked at the Banks performance charts, it does not provide information regarding milage.

Thank's

Dave MN

We have the 8.3 330hp on approx the same MH. It has the full Banks kit. I believe 8 mpg is about all you can expect.

7-9 mpg is about all you will get, fuel economy and 40' motorhomes don't go togather. Funny how the "electronic engines improve emissions" and get 8 MPG, and older 8.3 mech engines get 10-12 mpg in the same coach.

I agree with the approx. 8 mpg being all you're going to get in a 40' DP with the Cummins 8.3 engine.
