ISC Open Crankcase Ventilation Kit CV50116

Looking for input from those who have installed the OCV Open Crankcase Ventilation kit on their engine to stop oil from exiting the vent tube.

Here is a ton of thread's on this subject https://www.google.com/search?q=slob...com&gws_rd=ssl to read through while waiting for others to answer.
My solution , as you can see , is a water bottle

The level you see in the bottle is water from driving in a all day rain storm, I just dumped it out. I have only got water in it this one time?? from driving.

Think I'll keep my bottle and buy fuel with that money

I understand but considering the grief caused if DW gets 1 drop of oil on her white pants from the bicycle it seems cheeep.

I agree with Palehorse. I'll keep my $.05 breather can In trade for fuel.

Put a shower cap, held on with a bungee cord, over the bike seat while traveling. Or, if the seat has a quick disconnect lever, take the seat off and store it in a compartment.

Even if you spend the $$$ for the expensive substitute for a recycled bottle, you won't guarantee oil or grease won't get tossed up by the wheels or someplace else.

I, like the others, find a recycled bottle with holes drilled in it does just fine.

On our ISM I put a 1 inch pipe cut at a 45 degree angle into the exhaust with a heater hose attached to it with a hose clamp and no problem. Did this over 8 years ago and over 100,000 miles.

I get no oil anywhere since the bottle was installed years ago.....And we haul a Tan JK and a White enclosed trailer. If she is going to waer "White" pants, You need to wash the bicycle before she rides it, if it does not have oil on it , it will for sure be dirty from just being hauled on the back of the Coach.
Let us know how it works and how it was to install it.

I neglected to follow up on this. I installed the kit about 8000 miles ago & am satisfied with the result. I left the slobber bottle on & it is dry. It is easy to install.

I know the "Use a plastic water bottle crowd" will think I wasted my time and $$ but I try to do things where I don't have to keep up with it.
I just installed this kit. Leaving next week for a trip and I'll post some updates, but here's a few install photos....

The blow by hose is extended and ran to a baffle/valve that has to be mounted min 14" above crankcase oil level. The valve then separates the air/oil and the oil drains back into to the engine though the hole that would be used for a dipstick on the other side of engine. Very clean install, simple easy to follow instructions and took a little longer than an hour to install.

I'm going to extend the vent hose after the valve to under the coach and attach to the rear mud flab.

Engine crankcase ventilation

I had a 2005 Itasca Horizon with the C7 Cat that always deposited oil vapor on the toad. I tried all the simple fixes, but purchased a filter unit from Racor. It filtered all the oil from the crankcase breather and drained it back to the crankcase when you stopped. Air coming out was perfectly clean. Recommended filter element be changed every 25000 miles

lwasouth, that's awesome....I just got back from a 500 mile round Trip to Orlando and back. Rear of coach and towed car are SPOTLESS! Best $200 bucks I spent and no water bottle to keep up with...... don't understand why people don't use this more. $200 on a 150+k coach ain't no money.
