Need to change the fuel filter!! Is there a primer pump to remove the air from the system or is it self priming??? In other words do I just spin off the old filter and spin on a new one and start her up??!!

Pour fuel in the primary filter, install and start it up.

I believe that you will find two fuel filters that will need to be changed. The new filters should be filled with fuel prior to installation. One method is to purchase a one gallon can, purchase one gallon of diesel fuel and pour the fuel in the outer edges of the new filters before installing. The center of the filter is after filtration, therefore pour the fuel into the outer portion of the filter to ensure that the prime is filtered. When installed, turn the key to the on position and wait for the fuel to be primed. Turn the key off and repeat the prime a couple more times. You then should be able to start the engine and check for any leaks. Good luck.

Pre-filling the filters is NOT what Cummins recommends for this engine. Your coach has an electric fuel lift pump that will push fuel from the tank into the empty filters. Cummins says to turn the ignition on for about 30 seconds and then Off again. Repeat several times. This allows the lift pump to prime the filters. Then start the engine. If it doesn't start after a few cranks, repeat the priming process a couple more times.
Pre-filling filters risks getting contaminants into the fuel line and that could damage the injectors. That's not an issue with the primary filter and water separator because the secondary filter would catch any crud, but there is nothing after the secondary.
If you do choose to pre-fill, pour the fuel into the small holes in the filter so that the fuel passes through the filter before reaching the engine. The big hole in the center of the filter is the output side.

Gary is correct about the ISL.
Cummins position is the chance of contaminated fuel is too great by prefilling the filters.
However, many do prefill because it's quicker.

Thanks for all the replys! I am not in favour of filling the filter before installation for the reasons mentioned. However, as far as I can tell there is only one fuel filter on this ISL on a Kountry Star---please correct me if I'm wrong ---and if there are two where is the second.

Most engines have a remote water seperator fuel filter and a fuel filter on the engine under the intake manifold. Somewhat difficult to get at.
Put the filters on empty and cycle the ignition switch half a dozen times. works great!

I don't know about the ISL in your 2008 KSDP, but my 2004 DSDP with the ISL only has one filter, the fuel/water separator.
Back when I got my MH the chassis/ engine package was shipped to the RV manufacturer with only one filter. The RV manufacturer added the other fuel filter if they decided to.
There is no ned to prefill the new fuel filter. Once it is installed you will need to turn the ignition key on, but don't try and start it. Leave it on for 20 to 30 seconds. Turn the key off then repeat two more times. Each time you do this it runs the fuel pump. By the third time, your engine should be primed.
I have changed mine 6 times so far. Two of the times the engine fired up and ran for a short time, less then a minute, then died. I repeated the procedure for priming the engine just once and it fired up and ran fine.

Today I changed the fuel filters (2) on our 08 Kountry Star with the ISL Cummins. There are two!! Located at the rear of the motor side by side--easy to remove. The Fleetgard filter numbers are -FF5488 and FF1003 which is the water separator. Spun one off, spun new one on - turned key on several times and started the motor. Repeated this for the second. Thanks for all the comments.
