The last oil filters I got from Spartan for my ISM where the Fl9030. The parts guy said the 9030 is a replacement for the discontinued 9000. I recently did my annual maintenance on the coach and changed the oil and filter. When I checked for leaks I noticed the oil filter was leaking a little. I took the filter off and check the seal which was fine. I checked where the filter mounted on the engine and it was clean and no old gasket. I could not stop it from leaking. So I tried the other 9030 I bought. I oiled the gasket and changed the filter. Guess what, it leaks also. The leak is not bad but with me any leak is bad. My question is anybody using the 9030 on ISM engines? I know I didn’t over tighten the filter. This is the fifth time I changed the oil and filter on the coach and have been changing oil and filters for over 35 years and never had a filter leak and this bugging me.

Sorry the coach is not at the house. I looked at the filter and it is the FL9080 not the FL9030. My mistake.

LF9030 is a ThermoKing engine lube filter. The current Venturi Combo lube filter for LF9070 or LF9080 (formerly called LF9000, LF9001). We changed the part number in January 2010. The correct filter has the gasket on the rim of the shell. Your LF9030 has a gasket that is inboard of the rim and attached to a 'retainer' on the nut plate (part that screws onto the filter head).
