My ISX 650HP only shows 35PSI oil pressure at normal operating temperature and 65 MPH. This seems low to me. Anyone know if this is normal or not?

I don't remember specifically, but that seems like about what mine is.

I think the ISX uses high flow rather than high pressure. It holds 45 quarts of oil, after all.

You're not alone. From an OTR truckers' forum:

Quote:
Not to mention that I’m bothered by Cummins’ belief that 35 psi oil pressure is adequate… every time I start my truck up I wonder what the heck they were smoking when they came up with that one.
Looks like 35 psig is the nature of the beast.

On Edit: Check HERE - the oil pressure spec is in the table toward the bottom.

That's probably not the real pressure anyway. Most Cummins electronic engines just have an Oil OK/Not Ok indication and they display an arbitrary value on the gauge as long as the oil pressure/flow is OK. Mine (ISL) always says 55 psi, no matter what.
