It didn't take long for an ISB, DPF delete package

Sold for off-road use only, there is now a DPF delete kit available. Dodge 6.7L DPF Delete Full Race Package
I suspect this kit may become popular among the on-road 6.7 ISB owners too. After the warranty expires anyway. Rather like the catalytic convertor "test pipe" became popular.

Don't let the EPA catch you without the DPF apparatus - the engine won't meet pollution control regs without it.

Look at the page

At the top

"Use of this kit is not legal for use on any US or Federal Highway"

At the bottom
"This kit is intended for off road or racing use only, and is probably NOT legal for highway use in your state!"

Maybe Canada or Mexico its legal.

Until emissions inspections begin there won't be an issue deleting the DPF. I would save all of the DPF hardware and be ready to re-install it. I shudder to think about emissions inspections but it seems likely at some time in the future. Just note all of the emissions standards implemented in the last two decades. Emissions inspections would be just another step.

Here is a state by state vehicle emission testing program requirements. Gas vehicles are listed first then diesel vehicles.

These DPF delete packages have been out pretty much since the pickup trucks began coming out with them...BEWARE, these kits available are for pickup trucks ONLY. The ECM's they use are different than the ones that come in motorhomes and cab/chassis configurations. The delete pipes are most likely different in bend/size as well.

Maybe I'm missing something. It's been my understanding that not only are the DPF engine exhaust reportedly cleaner than the air that went in, but the mileage of these engines also went up. I was told why but don't remember.

If true, why would one want to remove it?

They are a pain in the arse. Bought a Dodge truck and go 2 miles to work but have to drive 15 miles out of the way to regenerate. What a joke.

A diesel is a poor choice if you are only driving 2 miles to work. They are made to work hard, tow heavy loads, with power to spare.

Hey, if you believe that from the EPA and the BIG three. I have a bridge to sell you in Detroit.
The best I ever got was 12 MPG without pulling and when pulling the 5er, 9 MPG's. I also had to change my oil every 3,000 miles, due to fuel dilution of 3% in the oil. I now have less then 0.1% fuel in oil, when I change at 5,000 miles. I am also now seeing 18 MPG on the highway and 11 to 12 MPG when towing.

Always seem to be "backstreet geniuses" trying to out-engineer the engineers ! How sad that a couple less intelligent morons would purposely circumvent a system designed to help clean up the environment.

Hope all these low on cash, lower on intelligence idiots drill holes in their sealed beam headlights, jack their MH 3 feet up in the air on hydraulic jacks, bypass the safety and emissions systems on their diesels, pull the batteries out of their smoke and CO detectors and go to sleep never to awaken again... fear not, if you sent your life's savings to jim baker / jimmy swaggert they will ensure the local bordello workers prosper and you can have your trip to cheapskate heaven.....grrrrrr

My Dad said the hardest job his engineers had was trying to keep their pipe lit all day.

You have to admire someone who is not afraid to tell it like it is.
