Mech 8.3 RPMs

For those of you with the Mech 8.3, what seems to be the best RPM to run. I think my Tach is messed up and would like to know what everyone else is running.
98 HR Imp 40'
Mech 8.3 325 HP
Cummings 3060 6 spd

I have the exact mechanical setup as you do. I assume you mean while on the highway at cruising speeds? In 6th gear at 65mph I see about 1800 rpm.

thx guys, that is what I show just didn't know how accurate the tach was
