After reading all the advice, I ordered the complete Air Dog kit. It doesn't come especially for my 03 Itasca Horizon Cummins ISB 300, it comes for the same basic engine in a Dodge pickup truck. The instruction manual shows you how to put it on a Dodge pickup, not on an XC Freightliner chassis. The existing fuel plumbing is quite a bit different than their manual. I would wonder where I can find a fuel system schematic for my rig.

After, rolling 92,000 on our Discovery, and being familiar with diesel engines. I decided to change the lift pump. I bought mine from Parley's Diesel. The one I bought was the FASS pump for the Dodge pick-up too. When I ordered it, I ordered the relocation kit, and removed the old Carter pump, but mounted the new pump in a more accessable place, out of harms way. The relocation kit, supplied a drawing suggesting the best way to mount it. The hardest part of relocating the pump? Getting the old one out!!

want or looking for info on how to install electric fuel pump on a safari sahari MH. cummins with allison pusher making the fuel tank at least 25' from engine. after being parked for 2 weeks I need to crank for 90 to 120 seconds. the manual says thats ok. I don't like doing that while people are watching with either laughter or pain on their FACE. thought of pressure in tank but air leaks makes that real difficult to do. it has the door on rear passanger side with fuel filtre. one side comes from tank the other go to second filter then to engine. this cranking thing just don't seem right. don't know why it has no electric pump. to access fuel lines at tank looks like tank would need to be lowered(major job) trying to or want to do it myself. have been told that a electric pump will push fuel around the world but not good at pulling fuel...thegrem0920@yahoo.com or thegrem for short

There are probably much smarter people here that know more than I do, but the Cummins 5.9L has the electric pump mounted under the secondary filter, the one mounted on the engine. It is quite a job, to remove it. The one thing that you don't want to do is neglect the lift pump. If I owned your unit, I would want to know that the lift pump is doing it's thing, ie. keeping the pressure to the injection pump. The injection pump relies on the lift pump to keep fuel available, no less than 5 psi.

That long cranking is NOT RIGHT! I have a '99 ISB 5.9 and the lift pump is mounted on the side of the engine as well. I cannot bump the starter and get off it fast enough for it NOT TO START! It doesn't matter if it has set for 2 weeks or longer (not much as I start it often at least once a month). Never had to crank on it to start, even after changing fuel filters.
