Good afternoon,
I checked the oil on the motorhome this afternoon.
My question is should I expect to see a drop in the oil level as indicated on the oil dipstick? So far since changeing the oil last summer with about 7000 miles driven over that time the dipstick hasn't shown any loss of oil.Has me wondering about the accuracy of the dipstick since there is such a large volume of oil in this oil pan. If anyone knows if I should expect to see some oil usage then let me know.
Thanks,
LEtsgoagain

I also have a 330 ISC and at 45K miles it loses/uses no oil between 15K mile changes.

Since I have had mine, In 8000 miles Zero oil use.

Just changed oil and filters and hope to continue with the zero or very little use.

Actually, the advice I got from my older brother (a long time over the road trucker) is that when you start to use oil, it is time to get an oil change. The breakdown of the additives tends to make the oil leak into the cylinders and burn there with your diesel. Otherwise, you shouldn't 'use' oil in the first roughly 400,000 miles with a well maintained cummins.

I now have 55,000 miles on mine and have seen no drop. However, it has only been 10,000 miles since I changed oil.

The advice of changing oil when you see a drop in level is good for any engine, for the reason(s) mentioned.

42K miles on my ISC. No oil is used between changes. Oil is changed annually.
