I have a problem with my 2003 Monaco cayman 5.9 cummings, I cannot find the serial number on the block, there are some numbers on the gearbox cover but they are only 7 digits. can anyone help me with finding this number please?

Cummins block serial number can be difficult to access, sometimes the edge of the head gasket is in the way . The number is stamped in the top block surface behind the oil filter housing .
Diagram shows location with exhaust manifold and head , cut away , giving some indication of how hard it is to view.

Perhaps a smartphone set to record video and slowly moved over the area would help? Use a painter's tape and a dowel to extend your reach

I have a 2003 Cayman also. As Skip426 pointed out, that is where the serial number is on my engine is located. It is hard to get to in our coach and harder to read. Do you have any of the original paperwork for your coach? It will be located in the original Cummins documentation. At one time you could call Monaco customer service and give the last six numbers of your v.i.n. and they would email you a copy of the data card for you coach which has that information on it. Don't know if they're still doing that though.
