Stalled now no start

Hello all
2002 Ultrasport 5.9 ISB. Idling in driveway warming up it stalled. Now there is no start. I have no WTS light, no power to lift pump, and no intake heater. Checked all available fuses/ relays. Kind of at a loss. I won't give up just thought somebody might have some thoughts. ECM?
Thanks
wayne

It does sound like a loose connection. Have you tried to use the battery switch to see if you get power?

I had a similar problem. Driving on the highway and my RAM 3500 just stops. I had power at the dash and accessories but not even a click when I tried the key. Had it towed. Rodents had chewed a wiring harness that went to the ECM and shorted it. That took out the ECM and another computer. $4,000 later I got the truck back.

Hope it's something cheaper on yours.

Just a WAG, but there maybe a small inline fuse for the ecm at the positive terminal on the chassis batteries. Look for a wire on same post at positive cables, follow the wire a bit and see if there's a fuse holder.

Seems like I have no power to energize ECM. Cummins Insite can't establish communication.
I will keep on looking.
Thanks

Check the harness connections and fuses. I have heard of loose or dirty connections being a problem before. Try holding down the battery switch that tyes the batteries together and see if you get anything.

Spoke with FCCC service in Gafney last night. Long conversation. There are several more relays and ignition fuses that I haven't yet found. We were working on it by phone. Got to cold and dark out. They sent me all the Wiring schematics. Will give it a go this weekend weather permitting.
They were very helpful. Told me to call back if I have any problems finding the components. I got nothing to lose. They know far more than the local Freightliner custom chassis service Co.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks
Wayne

Hey All,
Hate leaving an open post. Found the problem after much searching. we started tracing wires and we were opening looms. One of the large looms had a 5 amp fuse holder wrapped right in there. opened it and fuse looked good tested it and no continuity. Had a light scale on it. Put in new 5 amp and good to go. Just wrap everything up neatly and Drycamp.

Thanks
Wayne

Happy you got it fixed. The technician in me has to ask why did the fuse blow? An overload or a short?

Glad you found the problem.
badturks5, He said it had a coating of corrosion so it probbabley wasn't making a good connection.

It didn't blow. It just had a light coat of corrosion on it. Could have cleaned it.just put new one in. All good.
Thanks!

I had the same problem with the cat engine in mine, but, I moved the hidden fuse to a better location for the next time it happens.
Why would they wrap a fuse up in a harness, makes no sense to me.

You're right. What could they be thinking (besides what a conspiracy theory would hold: that they are after future business.)
