OilyEd....This is one of those things where it will probably be hard to find, so I'll throw out a few ideas. There have been some issues with the coolant sensors (Monaco) that got corroded and didn't read properly. The fix was to remove the sensor and clean it with a Scotch Brite pad and replace.

Engine heat builds way up when using the exhaust brake for long periods of time. Since you have the SilverLeaf, have you noticed any temp issues.

I like SilverLeaf and won't drive my coach without it on, but it's not a great code reader. If the problem persists, I would have the codes red by Cummins.

Lastly, you stated that you've been using an algaecide and other treatment, does that mean you been having algae issues. It could take changing the filters several times in a short period to correct algae issues.

I like the diagnosis of the throttle position sensor. If you have to take it to Cummins, you may at least have a starting point for them to check vs spending diagnosis hours.

Good luck!

Don I read a lot of your posts when you were Diplomat Don. They were very helpful. I will try to find and clean my coolant sensors when the weather gets a little nicer here in Ohio.

I have not seen any heat or temp changes in the engine so far and I was looking for that when I experienced this problem. I just found the manifold temp guage and added it to my screen to watch on my next drive.

When I purchased this MH 3 years ago I had to replace the fuel sending unit. It had stuff that looked like seaweed in it and was blown. I use Biobor in all of my other diesels regularly and in the MH. My fuel filters were changed several times in the beginning to clean up the fuel system and I experienced the fuel starvation Stop Engine light at that time. I have not had much of a build up lately and I still change out the filters at least once a year.

I plan on taking the unit to the Cummins shop soon to have the codes checked and the info from you guys should make it easier to tell the tech what to look for and at least I will sound more intelligent.

Thanks for your help and Happy Trails to you.

I'm still leaning towards dirty, or water, in fuel filters. That happens frequently when an engine is stored with little fuel in the tank.

easy way is to call f/l 24/7 number and let them walk you throw the code finding procedure.....

coolant is first guess
it only takes a small change in the degass bottle to set a light
mine came on and it only took 2 qts to top off the degass bottle

Kinda off the wall but I have read and experienced a mysterious stop engine light. After several tries of reading and digging around, I removed the coolant temp sensor rod and cleaned it. In the process I discovered that my coolant bottle fill hole had a damaged lip around it and the cap didn't fit well no matter what. I replaced the coolant bottle (expensive) and cap with a newer improved one and refilled it with fresh coolant. That was two years ago and haven't added water or coolant since. Let us know what you do find.
Good luck, good health and safe travels!

I am thinking the coolant bottle and fill level may be the problem. I had to drain my coolant a couple years ago to replace a coolant tube. I don't remember the light coming on until this past summer but it could be my coolant level has drifted down a little and I am not seeing it.
The snow drifts are still half way up the side of the coach, but it is finally starting to melt so maybe I can get back to this problem soon. I should have stayed in Florida longer this year. If only I could!
