We pulled off the freeway for a rest stop. When restarting, I got engine warning buzzer..."Service Engine". Buzzer stopped so I started the engine and got the engine "stop" warning. Retried several times with same result.

I cant tell what the warning is for... cant find it in the manual and it's Sunday so cant call anyone that I know of.

Does anyone have a engine error reference.

I cannot help with the translation, but I assume you have already checked the engine oil and coolant situation and they are satisfactory?

If so, you could try disconnecting the starting battery's negative cable and after several seconds reconnecting for a "reboot". Perhaps that might reset a faulty sensor signal.

If the fluids are fine and engine starts and runs fine, it would seem that the malfunction is not a major item.

Thanks Dean, I will check that.

I did go ahead and start and all gages, and SilverLeaf show all ok. So will hit the road and see if it is running normally.

Want to get to Vegas today... will lose my internet when I leave the Truck stop.

I had the same thing happen to me in Aug. The light came on and I pulled to side and checked all my fluid levels and they were Fine. I thought it might be the dash a/c so I turned on the generator and ran the roof a/c and everything was good. I stopped for thr night and the next day was fine until I drove for about 150 miles and the light came on and the engine stopped. Turns out it was the alternator and when the batteries went dead so did the engine. New altenator and everything is good again.

After checking that fluids are all up to level and oil pressure is normal I would just drive and ignore the light. The warning light is designed to warn you of a problem however 99 percent of the time the problem is the warning light therefore I will be applying for a patent to design a warning light for the warning light. And maybe for good measure a third warning light for the second warning light.

How's that SilverLeaf monitor doing for you? Shouldn't that tell you want the warning is for?

You want to be careful about driving with the warning lights and buzzers going off. On a lot of systems, the computer will shut down the engine if you let it go. You do not want that happening while you are on the road. Could become a safety isaue with traffic. And you would be stuck along side of the road.

When checking coolant level use a stick immersed in the coolant...don't trust the sight gage. My last stop engine light illuminated after about 5 minutes and was the coolant sensor.

Only if the OP has that particular parameter selected. The Silverleaf doesn't give any warnings. If the OP had started scanning through selected parameters, he would have seen that the battery voltage was low and that should have given him a clue.

I run the scan option every once in awhile while driving. One time it did show battery voltage down in the high 11's which gave me a clue something was wrong. I started the generator to charge the battery and continued on my way to a repair facility.

That was part of the confusion... Silverleaf showed no problems and the Silverleaf diagnostics were blank... no indication of a problem. Based on that and the fact that I could find no problem with oil, temps, etc., and the fact that no one was available on Sunday from any of the manufacturers... I decided that if there was a problem the engine-transmission would go into limp mode, so I took off. Continued on for the remainder of the trip without any discernible problems.

I actually have some parameters set with alarms to notify me of conditions out of the norm.

BTW... a day or so later, when I had time to search a tech manual on CD, I finally found a reference to the warning light that remained lit after the warning buzzer quit. It appears to be for transmission temp. (???).

We completed our trip and are now docked for the winter so I can deal with the warning light at my leisure.

Mine was not a voltage problem. Silverleaf and the dash gauge showed full voltage. I dont think the poster with the alternator problem has a Silverleaf.
