The Ugly Fix

Does anyone use one of these? Notice any difference? Do you think it would cut down on the amount of heat/acid/soot going the the #6 valve on the ISX?

Thanks

Carl

I put one on my 2009 425 ISL in December. Went from Tn to South Florida and back averaged 6.7 MPG after the Ugly before it averaged 5.4 MPG. I thought it ran a little warmer which is the opposite of all the other reviews I have read about it. It ideals smoother and noticed a power difference on the hills as well. Best $125 I have spent on a plug and play part.

I put one on my ISX a couple years ago. No idea if it is doing anything or not other than it takes 30 miles on the freeway for my fuel mileage to get up to normal.

Module that replaces the altitude sensor on the engine and keeps the EGR valve closed as though you were above 7,500 ft. Supposed to give better fuel mileage too.

I put one on our coach back in April 2017. It appears to be working but I installed it in after reading all the good about it and never really drove the coach without it.

I had the coach at Cummins for service and discussed it while standing next to the tech. He was reading codes and clearing the computer. He said he couldnít see it and that there were no issues. At this point it would have been installed for about 8000 miles.

Iíve had it on mine for about two years now. I notice more throttle response and improved mileage by about .5 mile per gallon. I like what it does as I think reburning exhaust canít be a good thing on a diesel and it just runs better.

Mine is going back to Cummins for a preemptive rebuild next month so there will be a one year partial warranty on it. I'll take The Ugly Fix off till that's over.

The engine will run a bit hotter because it has better combustion without the dilution of exhaust gasses. Yes, you would think putting hot gas back into the intake would make it run hotter, but that is not the case...

I wonder if they will come out with one for the newer single overhead cam ISX?

I doubt there would be any difference in the pollution controls going from 2 to 1 cam...probably fit on either.
