Can any one tell me how the theromvalve works, my fan is not coming on and i was told that the theromvalve was bad. I have a 553109857190 valve and I was thinking that is it possable that the adjustment screw on the side was on adjusted to the right temp. Does anyone know it the ajustment works to turn on the fan motor? 12 weeks to get a replacement value so if you can help that would be great.

Jack,

I am not an expert on this but I will respond with what I do know and perhaps it will kick start your inquiry and others will jump in. The number you listed is the 190 degree Sauer Danfoss wax valve. There is a wax plug in this valve that is melted by the heat of the engine coolant which allows the hydraulic fluid to flow and run the radiator fans. It is my understanding that the wax is either melted or not, and there is no way to adjust that.
