Warning Buzzer

We are limping our way back to Florida with an intermittent problem that is driving us nuts. The check engine light comes on and the warning buzzer sounds. We have been to one repair shop with nothing to show but lighter wallet. The code is for the primary speed sensor, as there is a secondary source for the ECM, it is safe to drive until we can get it home. Problem is, I do not know how to silence the buzzer, and another 800 miles of this will really grate on the nerves. Engine is a 2003 Cummins ISL 370 on a Spartan chassis.

I had that constant buzzer problem regarding my air pressure sensor. I had to wait several days to get it fix so I unplugged it and removed it for later re-installation once the sensor came in. HTH

Made it back to Florida. First 400 miles no check engine light, no buzzer. Today we started off and light and buzzer came on. Even ear plugs don't help much. 360 miles of shrill alarm and we would be basket cases. Stopped in a rest area and dug out the Spartan manual and started reading about the smart wheel system. Did not tell us exactly what to do, but did say hit reset button. No reset button in evidence,so when we started off and the light and buzzer came back on, I looked at the speedo and it said chk eng instead of miles on the odometer. I had two choices - mode or set, so I hit the set button and that silenced the alarm. Light remained on. Blessed silence all the way home. Now I need to figure out the cause.
