I have a 97 Windsor with a 8.3 Cummis and a 3060 Allison. If I put it in a lower gear and hold it to the floor the governor will hold the RPM to 2000. With the trans in Drive and at full power (pedal to the floor) the RPM's will only get to 1800 before it shifts. Do these RPM's seem to be in line with that engine/trans combo? Thanks Jim

My 2002 ISC is 2200 under power and 2400 when the exhaust brake is on, no throttle applied. don't know if that means anything in this case though.

Max governed RPM and max rpm for shifts are two different things. The engine has a governer which sets max engine RPM. The transmission has an electronic control or mechanical valve body which determines the shift point according to RPM and load. You can reach maximum governed engine speed before shifting if you manually shift the transmission, unless the transmission is set up to shift sooner for self preservation reasons.

PS: 2200 is over 95 mph so I don't see it very often!! And yes, even before the Banks kit it would pull it, now it just gets there faster!

I have same combo.

Sounds about right for level road driving, but I do not recall ever pedal to the floor driving so cannot be sure.
