I cannot find this info anywhere. Does anyone know where to find the engine coolant temperature sender on a '98 Cummins 8.3 C series 300 HP? It's in a Spartan Mountain Master Chassis in case that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance.
Paul

Deandec,
Thanks for the reply and the effort it took to post the illustration. Unfortunately, mine is not there. I guess maybe the chassis builder has options as to where to put it.

The cooling system is part of the chassis rather than the engine, so I expect the coolant temp sensor is in the plumbing rather than the engine itself.

Mine is in the plumbing leading into the expansion/burp tank/filler assembly which is hung way high in the engine compartment at the rear.

Thanks to all who tried to help. I found it. Ordered one from Spartan to compare. Called Spartan and asked for location. Finally found it (not where it was supposed to be. For anyone looking for theirs, mine is located on the passenger side (intake manifold side) in the head and tucked away behind the air intake tube for the air compressor. Had to move the tube to get a socket on it. For something so simple, it was a real knuckle-buster. I don't know how any technicians work on these things in motorhomes or buses. Access is horrible. Anyway, that is moved to the "done" list.
