Which FILTERS will fit my ISL?

Our American Eagle with 400HP ISL came with a whole bunch of filters (thanks to the PO). Yesterday I did an inventory and saw that what's currently on the housings don't match up with what he had stored up.

That leads me to wonder whether any filter will work just fine, so is there a link that shows what came with from the factory, and/or what alternatives there are?

Currently the filters being used are FS1022, coolant WF2071, and a Zinga ZAE 10 micron

Inventory includes:
FS1242
Fram PS 8689
FF5052

FW Fram PCS5059

Fram PH 3593A and 3387A (assumed to be for the genset)

Call Cummins Care at 1-800-343-7357 with your engine serial number and ask.
Nobody knows your particular Cummins engine better that Cummins.

Thanks, Mel. I'd sent a message to Spartan asking them for the engine S/N and am waiting for a response.

Any idea where the engine number would be on that red top?

The advice from Mel is spot on. I'd also Google each Cummins numbers for cross reference numbers and you'll find where the PO's filters go. If you have an aqua hot one may be for it and one may be for the gennie.

The 3593A is the FRAM ultra guard oil filter for the Onan.

Yes, duoglide, mine has a Hurricane so I'll check that today. He had 3 for the Onan, which is great, considering that it has only 500 hours on it.

Once I get the OEM filter sizes, I can measure the others for fitment. With as little as we drive, looks like about 5 years worth of filters, so that's a good thing.

I vaguely reminder a past discussion on this site? or other sites about filter ages. I'm not sure I would use filters in the 4-5 year old range.

You should start a quick reference list.
When you ask about your engine I would ask about the transmission serial number to. You will need it when looking up filters for it.
You will need the engine serial number any time you talk to Cummins. The first thing the parts guy will ask is "what is your serial number".
I keep adding to my list when ever I change a filter or a wiper or... so the next time I have the part number easily available.

I'm pretty sure your '03 uses the same oil filters as my '04 with an ISL.

The acceptable ISL engine oil filters for mine are: Fleetguard LF9009, NAPA 1748XD, Wix 51748XD, and Baldwin BD7309, and there are other equivalent brands as well.

The FS1242 is a water separator for the fuel line and would be installed as the primary (closest to fuel tank) filter. Spartan supplied the fuel filtering system, so they can tell you what they recommend and you can cross-reference to that if you have a different brand filter on hand.

What about that Zinga filter; I've never heard of them, but made in the USA, supposedly.

Is it a decent filter (mine is a 10 micron) or should I change it out ASAP?

The Zinga filter was original equipment on my Spartan. The best I can remember is that is the hyd filter.

Yep, Zinga is the hydraulic filter. Changed mine out last weekend with a Donaldson replacement.
