Leak in fuel line poor performance

Took the rv out after having work done on diplomat
it felt a bit underpowered
I had a look underneath and noticed a small diesel leak at the inlet to the fuel lift pump, would this cause any power problems or put air in the system
Thanks Steve

It would do both. By putting air in the system, it will cause a loss of power.
The suction side of the fuel system must be air tight.

When you have a fuel leak in either a gas or diesel engine you could also have a fire. Need to fix the fuel leak before you go on your next test drive.

A fuel leak on the INTAKE side of the fuel pump can indeed affect performance.

The same on the OUTPUT gas millage and fire insurance rates.

Yes, it will suck in air if on the inlet side of the fuel pump. And it can impact performance due to lower fuel flow.

Absolutely it will affect performance. Had the same issue. After discovering a loose fitting on the intake side of the fuel pump and tightening it, the coach felt like it had been given another helping of horsepower.

Not only will it affect performance, but if your Cummins has a CAPS system, it can necessitate an expensive repair. If fuel is leaking out, then air can leak in and the injector pump can fail.
