I spoke with my mechanic this morning. He suggested that when my engine overheated, it may have affected the sensor, so that the temp is being miss read. He'll check and, hopefully, that is it.

I have a 2005 C7, 3126, with an aft CAC and engine radiator. I over heated on a couple of West Virginia hills coming back to DC from Indianapolis.

I used a remote camera with an LED that wifi's to my phone to view my CAC and radiator. The CAC was a mess. I don't see how the radiator got any air.

I cleaned it with Simple Green and a low power pressure washer, 1750 psi, through the fan from the master bedroom and through a 1.5 inch hole (I drilled) in the fan shroud. I screwed aluminum covers over the shroud holes.

The CAC is now clean. The only better way to clean it is to take the radiators out - BIG, HEAVY JOB!!! OR, a very expensive job!!!!

I did not change temperature regulators, but I bought a new set and a gasket just in case I need them.

From everything I read, this is a common problem with pushers with aft radiators.

I also put a "Old Navy" cotton sock on the slobber tube that CAT routes down the side of the oil pan, just in front of the fan shroud. This was the source of the oil that made the CAC hard to clean.

I heard many solutions to the slobber tube problem, but the sock made the most sense to me.

Good luck.

I had my radiator cleaned as well as the CAC and also changed he thermostats.
Driving from Florida all the way to Michigan, the temp never even approached 200. Constantly running 185-190 or so.
