The AFE air filters don't seem to be any better than K&N's and neither could/would provide me with any air flow or filter efficiency testing data so I refuse to purchase them.
Those companies are in the filter business, they HAVE to know what the specs are!!

I also had Brazels do mine MP-8. Currently running at 50% Upped from 330 HP to 380 HP at 50%, the new units have a dial that can be set from 0-100%, 100% should be 425+, they say.

No hills on the way home so I have no place to test it.

The guys at Brazel's were very helpful and quick, thanks to Jon and the boys.

Brazels, installed my MP-8 on Monday we drove to the coast but no hills for a test, decided to drive to Cle Elum over the pass it was set at 50% seemed to help, I was able to pass all the 18 wheelers. I will set at 75% on the return and watch temperatures.

New to Cat C7

Just purchased a Cat C7 pusher,07 Fleetwood Providence, 350 HP . So for those of you who installed the MP8, have you seen an increase in fuel mileage?

As to K&N from what I have been able to find out I will pass on their filter
for diesel.
The best filter I have found is one made of nanofiber and not the one's that
use a thin layer with something else.
9" vacuum, not sure how accurate the gauge is.

Well I agree it works, traveling west over the pass towards Seattle never dropped lower than 55MPH. I ended up turning it up all the way to 100% and watching the temp gauge all the way "no problems".

I am happy...

You might check the post on Snow methanol/water injection on Cummins page. I just did a full report on it. Might be something to look at. Tom 04 Essex

John,
You are in very good shape, is that with the stock filter?
Cat spec's are a total of 10 inches H2O pressure drop across the whole intake
system with a new filter.

Don't buy a MP-8 looking for increased fuel mileage improvement. In labratory controlled conditions it is possible - BUT- in real world conditions we have more power with it and being human we will use it. If you use more power than it had stock you will likely not see any improvement in mileage. I didn't buy mine for anything but more power and I sure have more.

Yes it is a stock filter, first trip. My intake is routed to the rear roof line.

Wow, look at all the Washington folks. I am currently going thru a exhaust manifold leak problem and will be looking at thinking about a step up in power after I get it fixed. I guess it's been going on for a long time, but only got bad recently and there was definitely aloss in power..
Speaking about air filters, I posted a pix of mine when I pulled it and replaced it last fall on another thread. The intake is about 3 feet off the ground and behind the left duals. When I got it out,the center was full of filter material and some was missing. The reason for it was that it had sucked water in thru the intake and the pressure had pulled it apart. I weighed it and it weighed 19# and the new one I had just installed weighed 10#. So,when you're filter minder starts to go up,check your filter soon.
