Anyone using the products sold by Brazel's which provide claim to performance improvment such as the engine chip for the C-7, the improved air filter and the high performance muffler? Interested in anyone's experiences.
Thanks colemole

I installed the aero muffler a few months ago and I love it. Good gains for the money. I bought the power play mp-8 programmer and I plan on installing it this weekend after I install the egt gauge and get a stock base line temp. Should have some real world answers for you by sunday.

I am a big fan of Brazel's. This is do to recommendations of long time rv'er in our club. Had the aFe air filter and aero muffler installed a little over a year ago. Also the items listed in my signature. Was and am still thinking of "chip". After speaking with Big John about torque and other stuff, he mentioned that re-programming doesn't always work in the C-7. I can't remember the percentage he gave but it might be worth a candid conversation with him or Chris before proceeding to that level. I can definitely recommend the more air in more exhaust out improvements.

Hey Guys,
Although I am new to this forum I have been on others for some time now. I wanted to share my comments on the MP-8. I installed one on our 05 Cat C7 today and all I can say is UNBELIEVEABLE. The difference in low end torque and power was awesome. The new switches are now rotary, whereas the old ones were actual 3 positions. I set ours on the 15%ish range and took it for a spin. The acceleration was very impressive from a stop. I also installed a 5050XL Aero Muffler a couple months back and I wanted a little more performance, so the MP-8 was the trick. It has been mentioned before to keep a close eye on your EGT's. I still plan on being careful on hills and keeping the engine in its "sweet spot" which is around 2100 rpm's. I purchased mine from www.thoroughbreddiesel.com and their price included free shipping.

I had the MP-8 programmer and the Aero Turbine 5050XL muffler installed on my coach. What a big surprise out of that 350 C7!

Tim,
The MP-8 is definitely a wake up call for the Cat 350 C7! Amazing the difference in power.

The 5050XL really barks. I probably should have ran it directly out the back but opted for the stock style exit out the rear left side. I also used a 5" to 6" tip. I don't know what has come over me, I'm like I was at 16 years old with cars. I took my wife for a ride and she quickly made the comment that it was now a hotrod. Next is the air filter.

If the MP-8 adds more power will the engine heat also rise or does the 5050XL added to the equation help get rid of that extra heat? My Cat C-7 330 engine seems to be pretty border-line as far as engine over heating goes. Everything seems to have to be pretty much perfect (clean radiator, right thermostats, perfect coolant level, correct RPM and best gear while climbing) in order to avoid engine over heating. More power would be great but any additional heat source would not be nice.

The Aero Muffler is supposed to reduce EGT's by as much as 100 degrees. The MP-8 should only be used at the 15% position on motorhomes. On the new rotary switches that would equate to half way.

Do a web search for 70-10102 AFE and see who has the best price. Also make sure to double check the part number.
