C-9 high rpm

I had a problem with my 2005 Country Coach C-9 and looking for some advice. I was recently driving through AZ highways at 106 outside temperature and dash ac on max. After coming off the freeway and driving through town for about 7 miles, I came to stop at the rv park check in and the engine felt like it was at a very high idle. I put it in neutral and within 5 seconds the rpm went over 2000 and I had to turn off engine. Checked into rv park and when started engine to drive to my spot, all was well. Drove through rv park and did it again when I got to my spot. Shut down and restarted, idle was normal. Now back home in San Diego with no repeat. Any ideas as to cause would be of great assistance, thanks all.

The fact that you were able to shut the engine down , rules out fuel from an out side source; propane fumes , spilled gas in the area. With fly by wire throttle control, anything is possible; as far as dash temp is conserned, I've heard of flashes to repair altitude related performance issues, maybe a local Cat dealer could shed some light on the matter. Run away engine speed, is a major safety issue and I'm sure they would like to talk to you about it.

Thanks for the info, I am planning on a trip to the cat dealer to discuss the issue. Trying to gather someone else's experience before I get there. Hope it is something easy.
