C&-PTO Adjustments

Hooked to engine computer at a recent CAT equipment/service dealer, tech said "weak power", but it was 5 pm on Friday afternoon--good-bye. So 400 miles down the road and headed to a Denver CAT shop. What are we talking about to increase power (just adjustments-not add on equipment)? PTO: "Adjust ramp rate up between PTO set speeds", "Multi-speed PTO set speed Capability", "Adjust rpm bump intervals", etc. ???????????? That is to say, what is a CAT tech going to do with the computer to increase engine performance?
Thanks in advance.
Vince

Vince, apparently, some of the in the know guys, that frequent this forum, haven't seen your post. I have a C-9, and what these guys said to you, is completely Greek to me, and I have been around Diesel engines nearly all of my life. When I did the Carfax on my coach, it had been re-flashed a number of times. It did not say why it was re-flashed. There are things they can do to increase the power, but I would want to be sure I knew what they were going to do.

With industrial engines, anything hooked to the flywheel housing is a PTO ( power take off ).

The adjustments may be fuel control tweaks to the shift points of the automatic transmission.

there are no known software upgrades to this engine, that will increase power. Sure they can reflash, but that really does nothing to the fuel scheduled. Once the software is released, very seldom, actually never will they re-design the fuel schedule. So, when a service shop I can increase your power on a CAT, I would not listen to them.
The C7 came in either a 330 or 350 HP originally. That is the only 2 different fuel schedules known. If you really want to know, call CAT Hotline directly. M - F only
