I am buying a 2004 Journey 36G with the C7 330HP Cat engine in a private sale. A block heater is not listed on the options. Is it likely that it has a engine block heater? The owner has never used the block heater and is not sure if it has one. Appreciate any comments wether it is a normally included on the engine or not.
Thanks

A little off topic for your question but you might be interested in this extensive thread on the bearing failures for some Cat C7 engines and see if it covers the model your looking at.

I used to own an 2004 Itasca Meridian. Same chassis. It had the block heater. I'm sure the Journey did, too.
Regarding the bearing failures. I'm on my second coach with the C7. This one has over 50,000 miles on it. No issue with the fan bearing.

I too have a Itasca, Meridian (Same as a Journey) with a 330 Cat and it is the most trouble free coach I have owned. I have almost 80,000 miles and not a hiccup. As for the block heater, the block heater switch is probably located where the water guages, water pump switch, electric water heater switch are.
One other piece of information, the Winnebago tech support is second to none. Just give them a call with the Vin number and they will tell you all about the coach and what is on it. You can even download a brochure for the coach on line.

On my Journey there is a on/off switch near the control panel in the galley labeled block heater. There is also a male plug (like the end of an extension cord) in the basement compartment that stores the power cord, etc. If not plugged in no engine heater? So I'm suggesting you make sure the unit is plugged in.
