Cat C9 Designation

This may seem like a dumb newbie kind of question, but in reading these threads, I periodically see a four number designation used for Cat engines beyond the C7, C9 etc. I will see numbers like 3126. What do those numbers mean? I have a 2005 Country Coach Allure with a 400 HP C9, how do I find out those designation numbers for my engine?

I sure I'll get corrected but I think the c-7 took over the 3126 the number 7,9,13 are engine sizes in liters. With your engine serial number you can call cat. and get any info you can think of including how it did on Dino test.

Sorry, I didn't know they made different size C9s. Looks like 2007 and up is 9.3.
