I am having an M3 done at present and with this thread asked my local shop to check out the Fan Bearing assembly and replace it if showing any signs of wear. They did not because the tech who I have gotten to know over the past years said it looked like the bearing and shaft have been updated on the 2007 with a better bearing and heat treated shaft. Belt tensioner was also in good condition so I hope that is the case!!!!

Thank you so much. I think that what I'm going to do is just replace the Bering with the belts that way I don't need the other parts I'm assuming that you needed all those because they got damaged when you broke down, is that right?

Ninos - If I remember correctly I was told the bearing assembly was a not bearing unit as we tend to think they are but parts that needed to be assembled to make the complete bearing unit. Perhaps a bearing can be used on the existing shaft and brackets. You'll need to check those parts when is it removed.
