For a die in the wool Cat man, I guess that is good news. I wonder will any coach manufacturers go back to building on a chassis with a Cat engine? Even if they are supposedly manufactured in China. Even with the idiosyncrasies of my C-7 I would buy one. But first I would want to fully research the recirculation pollution controls.

The C11-C13 are non Caterpiller engines, the C-15 is a Cat. The C-11 and C-13 are Navastar engines with Cat fuel system components on them.
When I retired from Cat the decision was to walk away from the use of UREA, do to supply problems anticipated in 09. The decision at that time was to go with the EGR, Nox filter, Catalyst and a DPF filter system. Similar to the Cummins solution to the EPA mandate on emissions.

The CAT web site has multiple pages of info plus two booklets to download.Today in fact when I was posting CAT was running a ad on the IRV2 website with info on their Tier 4 solutions. One has to remember these Tier 4 emission controls in one form or another are required now in most developed countries for all off road -stationary-marine-power generation- railroad- and mining applications. For example go to the MAN Diesel web site (Germany) and see their multiple non urea solutions for emission controls on all of their diesels from the largest tanker ships to small ag. tractors world wide.

The only nonurea cummins solution is I believe in their ISB pickup application. When the same ISB engine is used in a Motorhome (vocational) application etc.Urea injection is required.(as with all of their medium & heavy duty tier 4 engines)
