cyko,

I am curious why your mechanic thought your radiator only had a year to live. Thanks.

dreamer.

cyko - Put a plastic empty peanut butter jar on the end of the slobber tub to catch the oily mist and overflow before it blows out anywhere, in the radiator, on the rear of your coach, or all over your toad. Just empty the jar couple times a year. It just needs a few 1/4" holes around the top of the jar for breathing. Have been using this arrangement for couple years with no oil spray out anywhere.

Brett Wolfe the president of the CAT Chapter FMCA reccomends dawn dishwashing detergent and a water hose pressure only for cleaning your radiator. A water heater flush rod helps.

CAT makes a crank case breather (slobber) tube kit or you can use abs fittings and extend the tube to where it extends away from the radiator.

When you think your radiator is nice and clean, run a straw from a WD40 can (or something similar) between the fins in various places to see what is left in there. Any grease or oil will act as a dirt magnet. Keep cleaning until the straw comes out clean everywhere.
