I did mine at 30k and if I had not done it would break on the next long trip. the Bering was all dry and hard to turn. I suggest that you get an extended warranty I did and I already got my money back. I paid around $2800.00 and they paid up for repairs around $6000.00 in the first year. Joe

Do not rush into purchasing an Extended Service Policy. They are expensive and complex.

Make sure you understand the differences between Inclusionary and Exclusionary policies. Look at the benefits of a consequential damages rider. Evaluate the AM Best rating of the insurance company providing the underwriting.

Ask for copies of sample policies so you can read the fine print. All of the big name providers will email you a copy of their policy.

Read reviews by members who have policies from different providers. Make sure they have had a claims experience. All policies seem to work well if you've never had to file a claim.

Once you have purchased a policy make double sure you follow their rules on maintenance or they can deny your claim.

Search the forum for extended warranty. You will find many good posts on the topic.

Here are just a couple.

Opinions of these Service Contract Providers

Would you buy an extended warranty on used coach?

From the Cat RV Club

On 3126B/3126E/C7 Engines, where is the grease fitting located on the fan
accessory drive?
It is located at the twelve o’clock position behind the fan drive pulley, near the
valve cover. You will likely need a grease gun extension tube to reach this
grease fitting.
If your engine was built after January 2003 or your engine serial number is
HEP15357 or higher, there is not a grease zerk provided, since the bearing is
permanently lubricated.
What is the difference between a 3126 and a C7 engine?
The C7 engine has a different valve cover, cylinder head, fuel injectors, a side
mounted breather, and software to meet current emissions.

The folks at Wholesale Warranties are great to deal with and offer 2 of the top choices IMHO; CSI Allegiance and Extra Ride. Extra Ride offers an unlimited mileage plan but does not offer Consequential Damages rider. I went with CSI.

You are not bad operators... Our 2 turbo failures could not be explained. What year was your DP? I would consider an extented warranty.. I know this will strat the whole warranty debate again.. But I am happy with my experiences.. and yes the insurance companies are in business to make money.. but they have paid for most all of the claims I have submitted... Peace and Safe Travels ... D

Is this engine ("Cat 7.2L TurboDiesel I6") the same as what you're all referring to generically as a "C7"?

I just stumbled across this post and saw a used '07 Discovery for sale (about 25,000 miles) that has it, hence my asking.

Thanks

Never mind - answered my own question since I found an old brochure online. The brochure says it's the C7 330 HP
