The CAT info books tell us that the C-7 (7.2 liter) engine produces 860 lb-ft of torque whether the hp rating is 300, 330 or 350. The torque rating is the same. The higher hp ratings occur at higher rpms. Anyway, torque does NOT get you up the hill, horsepower does that, so a 350 hp engine will get you up the hill faster than a 330 hp which will beat a 300hp.
Some do not agree, but that is the data from CAT.
Good luck.

Here are the power curves for the 300, 330, 350 and 360HP C-7 engines.
http://ohe.cat.com/cda/files/378796/...%20HR%20P2.pdf
This will show at what RPM each reachs maximum BHP (Brake Horsepower) and the curve of the power band on the way there. Each achieves max torque at 1440 RPMs, however, each achieves max BHP at a different RPM.

Well it's the same block .. With these computer controlled engines , it's more than likely a matter of a chip change ..

The curves in that link and the 360/950 you refer to are for the newer 2007 vintage of C7 engines. The 2005 vintage C7 you're looking at has a max of 350/860. Even if you could tweak the 2005 ECU to get HP up to 360, you're not going to get any more torque without some expensive modifications.
you can confirm that by calling the CAT RV engine help line at 1-877- 777 - 3126
and give them the CAT serial number of the engine in question.

I've asked several Cat dealers and service centers and all say pretty much the same thing. If you have a C7 300hp, it can be upgraded to the higher hp's of 330 or 350 with a software change to the ECM. The cost of this change has varied with who I talked to, anywhere from $900 to $1500. Theory is the higher HP would require more maintenance down the road under warranty. They also told me it's not worth the expense and I wouldn't notice much change in usable power. Hence, I didn't do it. Maybe someone who has done this mod can shed more light on the subject.

Quickrick,
Are you sure the 2005 Revolution has a c7 engine? It should have a C9 350 or 400 hp with 1100 torque.

I have a 2006 fleetwood discovery with a c7 and I called Mike at brazels rv performance and asked for some advise and he sold me a chip and a muffler and a cold air intake, and with the three mods You should get a increase on hp and torque, I don't really remember the exact numbers that he told me but the torque was around 1000 pounds, on stage 3 on the chip, (It as 3 settings on the chip), and Its spouse to help with gas milage, I'm just telling what I was told, what do you guys think, could this be true? and do you guys think the 330hp c7 is enough engine for the discovery? Thanks Joe.
