Has any one had a 2004 or newer engine ECM re-flash ? Did it change the engine performance or fuel mileage ? What was the cost ?

Yes.

Not noticeably.

It was free - but the coach was still in warranty.

Just wondering, my coach is 2.5 years old and just had ECM flash. Cost one hour labor (99.00) Chassis still has .5 y on warr. and engine still has 2.5 y on warranty. There had been 3 updates available, they put in the latest. Should this have been covered under warranty?

Usually they will charge for the ECM flash unless it is done to remedy a particular problem.

on my C7 it was covered as I complained about low MPG.

For all of you who have had this done. What was the milage before and after and what engine do you have? I am getting around 7.6 to 8.0 overall towing a 2008 Ford Explorer. I am still on the original flash from late 2003 on a 350 C7. The power seems adaquate so I am wondering if I need to do this or not.

If you have no problems I'd leave it alone 8 mpg doesn't sound bad.

I updated mine to the latest flash in 2007 by a CAT Dealer. No charge. Acceleration on take off improved a little. No change in mileage, 7.5.

200 miles is far too low a data sample to derive any meaningful MPG. Wait for the 2000 mile report, then the data will be far more meaningful.

Too many road/weather/terrain/driver variables in that short a distance, also the on board sensors are far from sensitive enough to discern anything definitive in that distance as well.
