"For me, I have the Aqua Hot, so the engine can be brought up to temp without running." That doesn't heat the engine oil does it?

Scott,
The Aqua Hot is an amazing item, it uses 4 thermostats, one each for, front, bath, bedroom & basement plus is connected into the engine (ISM500) and works both ways, can preheat the engibe or use the engibe to provide the hot water to heat the coach, it uss the hot water baseboard units in upper and large coil with fan in basement. Works well down ibto the -5 f thatI have been inyo.
Also the coach has a nice air compressor 12VDC, that will provide plenty air to operate the slide seal, leveling / ride height and maintain 90-100 psi in system.
This is not my first coach, the MCI7 was for over 20 years. Today I have a 2001 Foretravel 320, 36' and had the ISM450 uprated to the ISM500 spec by Cummins.
Being over the hill, this most likely be my last and not saving it for the DW's next bunky buddy.

I don't get up til 9 AM. Leave at 6:30??? Where could you possibly be going at that time? Have cows to milk? I can't figure people out, they retire and then get in a big rush, drive from Chicago to Tampa in 2 day and try to beat everyone home and I own my RV so I will idle it if I wish.

As my father in law use to say, he didn't think he had that much time left, so he didn't have time he could afford to waste.

Too bad if no one else likes the smell of your fumes or as in my moms case, diesel makes her sick to her stomach.

You got it, it is amazing how some can go thru life not making waves nor #issing off the folks near, while a few big heads have a way of #issing off everyone they get close to.
Wonder why there are homicides ?

Last night at 1:00am three 5th wheel TT's pulled by diesel pickups arrived here at an RV Park in Roswell, NM (no, they weren't aliens). They talked loudly and left their engines running for over twenty minutes while they set up. Then this morning one of them decides to disconnect and level at 6:00am. And for some reason they let their engine idol for over half an hour while leveling their 5th wheel before driving off. I don't care how you look at it, that's rude.

Me? I consider idling during "quiet hours" rude, so I use battery power to both level and put the slides out and in. No need to start the engine. And if you have the circulating pump option, the Aquahot/Oasis will warm the engine coolant.

Interesting thread. I'm sort of curious to note how many people choose a life that intimately involves large engines, then complain about large engines.

I think everyone should do as I do. In order to be a quiet good neighbor, I NEVER start my engine until I'm actually on the highway.

I tried your method, but my DW refuses to push the Dutchstar out of the park. Maybe your DW can give mine some encouragement at the hoots!

OK, What do you consider a "Large" engine ? My world, larger than 1500 hp starts to get large.

Yeah, well, we can all be name-droppers if we want. In my world, 43,000 lbs thrust, times four, was normal. 1500hp was the little engine we used to start the normal engines. ;-)

Just my opinion, but I don't think a running engine smells or sounds any worse than a stinking aquahot blowing at my patio or some fool watching a ball game on his outside TV.

jezz how do any of you even leave the safety and security of your stick and brick houses to venture out into the unknown world that is NOT in your control, and where things might and often do happen that might irritate you, at one point in your life you all must of had a job you had to commute to that involved traffic you could not control, how did we survive that ? If the 5 to 20 minuets of an engine running irritates you that much how did you ever survive the 8 hours of a boss or supervisor telling you what to do for 30 years ? Out of the 1,440 minuets of your day we are talking about 1% of discomfort for a mere 14.4 minuets.
