Exhaust tip

My 4 inch by 20 inch chrome exhaust tip is damaged and I need to replace it. My question is can I replace it with a 14 inch one,or does back pressure become a consideration since the original is 20 inches.

It is just a pipe and does not create back pressure. And they are expensive.

Check ebay, and think about alternatives, such as a 4" inlet and 5" outlet. I couldn't find a straight 5" for my rig, but a 5" in 6" out fit nicely once I enlarged the exit hole in the fiberglass.
