When I was in business I had my service trucks' oil changed on even 10s to make it simple for everybody to remember. I set up the same schedule and change the MH oil at 10, 20,30 thousand miles. I just had the oil and filters changed and I'm just a few miles short of 50,000. Generator at 150 hrs.
Hey you've got to make adjustments for old age and short memories.

ISC 350 Cummins change oil every spring [April] after return from winter holiday down south. 12 months, once a year. Shell diesel engine oil 15W40.

I went in to my engine configurations and found a recommended oil change opition. I turned it on. The engine ECm looks at fuel burn and load factors and tells me when to change oil. So far it says change oil every 7800 miles.so thats when I change it. As far as these engines not being loaded very heavy or do not work as hard as commerical engines. I would say they see very similar loads. Motorhomes are fully loaded all the time and most of them they are loaded to with in 10-20% of the chassis max. They don't see the day in day out miles but when they move they have a fairly high fuel burn.

Cummins says to change the oil before storage or long term lay up, so that's what I do.

But you aren't moving 80,000#'s either like the OTR rigs are either.

FWIW, Most large truck fleets are going 20,000-25,000 miles between oil changes by continuously doing oil analysis and using high quality synthetic oils. These engines are handling that fine. When I retired I left a 1998 Freightliner FLD120 that was driven almost exclusively by yours truly with close to 900,000 miles on it. The 330 HP Cummins engine had never even had the heads off of it. The oil was changed at right around 22,000 mile intervals (approx. every 3 months) with oil analysis done annually. The last I knew it was still going strong. This was not exceptional. Just out of our barn alone we operated over 40 tractors. Our average odometer was at around 600,000 miles.
