Is the Power Steering pump on a C13 available from CAT or is it a Chassis man. part
My '05 CAT C13 has a power steering pump mounted to the front structure (under the air compressor). It is a LuK pump.
Did this pump come "with the engine" from CAT (should it be available through CAT) or was it installed by the coach builder/Chassis manufacturer (which would mean the engine shipped with nothing in that "hole" - maybe just a cover).
I can't find any mention of a power steering pump on the CAT parts website.
The air compressor is made by Bendix and that is listed on the CAT parts website - but not the Power Steering Pump (unless I 'm looking in the wrong place).

Call the CAT rv tech line at (877) 777-3126, give them your engine number and ask them the question

I never heard of the Cat RV Tech line.
Is that an actual Caterpillar parts line/person? I guess I should call to find out.

I did engine design. I never saw an on-highway engine shipped with a steering pump. Has to be from the bodybuilder.

That is what CAT told me too.
Power steering pump comes from chassis builder.

Isn't the power steering pump driven by that %^$#@ Chelsea PTO?
Think I read that somewhere.

No. The PTO drives the hydraulic pump for the radiator cooling fan.
Not all coaches are built the same - so yours may differ.

Sorry. I thought I read where someone's PTO issue affected both systems.

According to my data sheet (not always a reliable source of information) mine is a Luke 150.
Edit - so then I googled "Luke" and a combination of hydraulic, pump, 150, and power steering and got NOTHING.
Guessing my data sheet fails again.

I always wonder why all those guys from Burg are bad. In any case, my data sheet doesn't say "LuK 150" it says "Luke 150".
Mine is also so dirty and covered in surface corrosion that on label is legible.

You're right, the build sheet does say "Luke" - those Monaco guys are so funny.

I do believe the hydraulic pump on the PTO also feeds the ps system.
