When I attended the CAT engine seminar at the FMCA Rally, CAT said it was important to record your engine serial no. and save it in a safe place.

I just called the CAT call center and asked where the serial no. was located. The rep. said it was on the passenger side of the oil pan. There was a white UPC label there, but when I gave those numbers to the CAT rep., she said they were part numbers only. Can anybody tell where else I could look?

I'll have to take a look at mine, I wrote the number down 4 years ago when I first purchased the coach but don't remember where I got it. Seems like it is under there some place but don't remember which side of the engine its on.

I was lazy when I needed mine...

I called Freightliner... gave them my chassis vin and they gave me the serial number to the engine and the trans. I called to ask some other dumb question, but the tech was more than helpful!

You sure about that? My sticker only has tire info and the VIN.

That's what I ended up doing John. Would have been much simpler just to do that in the first place! Live & learn...Thanks!
