MPG vs Miles Driven

I have a 2002 DutchStar with a 3126E cat at 330 hp the coach is a 3852 model. I have 69,000 miles on odometer. Weight is about 28,000 to 30,000 when in use. The engine seems to be running better now than ever and my mileage has gone up almost .7/10th of a mile per gallon and appears to be climbing. Just wondering if engine is getting broken in? I have read comments in other threads about mpg improving the more the coach is driven provided that maintenance is kept up. I would appreciate all thoughts.

I believe you are right on in your thinking, these engines are just starting to loosen up and are getting starting to run good at 50,000-80,000 miles. I have noticed this with mine at 50,000 miles.
