need C7 experienced input on getting smarter on engine

so i got the Cat C7 (350HP) in the Tuscany and read most of the engine book but can't see the engine from the outside back door.
so is it best to go pull up the bed floor and go rummage around to get smarter or is there a better way?
Then what kind of extra book can help me learn better how to take care of it? where is stuff...etc.
your input would help.

Another source for info on your engine is the CATRVCLUB. Google it and you will find the site. As for looking the engine over, yes you will probably have to lift the bed to access the engine. Most coaches require that. Inconvenient but that is the nature of the beast. While doing so, you can find an on line diagram and or photo with various parts diagrammed so that you can identify them while looking the engine over. Good Luck

engine access & get to know

thanks i guess i'll go rummage around, look for diagrams......
does anyone know if this model has the clear bowl water separator at the engine (its not visible anywhere else) and if it is 2 fuel filters or 1---priming pump or just fuel pump?
the provided books don't say all this---so i guess snooping around is
needed.
haven't found basic engine drawing diagram on line for this model--anyone have one?
pictures are great to get started
Gary
