I've used propane infusion on other diesels and was reasonably impressed with the increase in performance and fuel economy. So is anyone using a propane infusion or propane injection system on the Cat diesel? I'd be interested in how it performs in your motorhome.

Bob,
If I recall correctly propane injection is used only when extra power is needed. Also an extra propane tank might have to be installed. You may want to look into the MP-8 programmmer and the Aero muffler which I have been very pleased with so far. AFE also makes a dry type filter that will add to the above combo. Check out the thread below on C7 upgrades.

RVer98 Thanks for the reply.
I do have a Powershot 2000 propane infusion system I bought for an Isuzu diesel several years ago and it worked very well on that engine. I removed the system when I sold that vehicle and used it on a 6.5 diesel (but was not impressed with the performance on that engine). Powershot tells me they will repair/reprogram the Powershot for the Cat at no charge so I do own a system that may provide power & economy to my Cat engine (IF YOU BELIEVE THE ADVERTISING). Also I bought but have not installed the Aero muffler. Yesterday I finished installing EGT & boost gauges on the Cat engine. I want to get a "feel" for these readings before I make any modifications including installing the Aero muffler - kind of a one step at a time thing to see what I think really works. I've considered the MP-8 programmer but since I do have the Powershot 2000 thought I should ask for feedback on propane infusion before I drop dollars on another product. Again thanks for the input.
