Coach is ready so I'm heading out tomorrow (Friday) morning to pick her up. Will have plenty of hills to go up and down to see if the alarms go off. They ended up putting in a new turbo.

Man what a nightmare you have been through. I have the same engine but I have no boost guage. I wish I did and an EGT guage also.
Good Luck

Other than the trips back and forth (I love to drive her) the coach has been just perfect. If the "stop engine/check engine" light didn't go on you couldn't tell anything was wrong, except the slight loss of power going up hill which most may not even notice. It's simply annoying and I will be glad to know it is fixed.

This Vectra has been the best coach I've owned (of the 4) very very few issues, a great driver and has never broke down on me. I think that CAT had an issue in the '04-'05 years with the turbo but as long as they stand behind it, I'm not going to complain. I'm a CAT guy from way back.

Picked the old girl up on Monday. Drove up and down hills and no alarms. They did put in a new turbo and the power was great, guage not erratic, and best of all NO ALARMS.

I have a C7 330 HP and it does not have EGT or boost gauges. I have a set of gauges that I removed from my previous motorhome and I could install them in my present motorhome. In fact it was on my list of things to do but I just had a service done at a Freightliner shop and asked the mechanic if he thought it worth my time and effort to install these gauges. He told me no, the engine board compensates for high EGT or high boost. Reading this post makes me think maybe I should go ahead and install these gauges. Thoughts, comments or opinions? Thanks, Bob

The dealer did indeed put in a new turbo. Took it on a 600 mile trip and it drove like a champ. No alarms, great power going up hills, no excessive turbo boost PSI. I think CAT may have an issue with the turbo's in the C7's . As I stated earlier the same thing happened on my -
'05 Journey and now my Vectra......both repairs covered under warranty.
