I used an old/empty peanut butter jar. I cut a 1" hole in the center of the lid that slips over the slobber tube. Then I drilled several holes around the top of the jar to allow for pressure relief. I first put the lid on the slobber tube then put a worm clamp on the tube to keep the lid from falling off. I cut some cardboard circles to cover the bottom of the jar and then screw the jar onto the lid. I just un-screw the jar from the lid and replace the cardboard and clean the jar about once a year. I keep the slobber tube about 2-3" from the bottom of the jar.
The other thing to consider is that you may be putting too much oil in the engine. I went from 22 qts to 19 qts and that made a big difference. My manual says 22 qts but from what I understand, CAT has re-adjusted that to 19 qts.
