How do I determine where my C-7 was manufactured? Is there any clue from the serial number?

Thanks. I guess my engine didn't sit around long as the chassis was built 17 May 2005.

Thanks again CAT. Now I will have to see if Greenville has a service center and if they offer factory tours.

Most Caterpillar plants have a visitor center and factory tour. I do not think the Greenville facility would have a service center, if you are looking for your engine to be serviced. You will need to contact a dealer for them to arrange a tour of the facility for you in most cases.
If your engine needs to be serviced then you will need to take the vehicle to a Caterpillar dealer and or authorize service center such as a truck dealer.

Thanks Jim. I suspected that might be the case. When I have the top end done (when being the operative word) I am thinking of taking it to the Cat dealer in Meridian, ID based on the reviews and research I have found. I was just impressed with the factory service centers in both Gaffney, S.C. (Freightliner) and Forest City, IA (Winnebago) thought I would give CAT a shot.
