which engine

I have just recently gotten our first diesel pusher. A 2001 Newmar Dutch Star with a 300 cat engine. That is all I know about the engine and would like to know what model engine it is. Have seen lots of model numbers tossed around here in the forum but not sure which one mine is. Any help appreciated.

I'm sure it's some variation of this engine:

The owners manual said the engines are rated from 175 to 330 hp. I was told that my engine is 300 but how would you know for sure, I have seen several other Dutch Star's listed with 300's and 330's.

My 2000 Dutch Star has a 330 hp 3126. It's printed on the valve cover.
