2001 Dynasty Allison transmission makes noise

I have a 2001 Monaco Dynasty with the 3000 series Allison trans. I took it out for a drive today, since it hasnít been driven in a couple of months. It drove and shifted fine, but when I got back, I shifted from drive to neutral and it made a strange noise. While sitting in one place, with the brakes set, I shifted from drive to neutral and back again and again numerous times. It would only make the noise when going from drive to neutral, not neutral to drive. It kinda sounded like when you set the air brakes, but a deeper sound. Any ideas?

This is a little vague for a in-forum diagnosis, but u-joint? Is it a metallic clunk?

It’s not a clunk. I was under the coach. It’s not the U joints. It a longer sound. Maybe an air shift?
