2001 Trail-Lite

This motorhome on a work horse chasis has a GM 8.1 liter model 8100 motor. Ignition switch has burnt out several times. Is the 9 amps the fuel pump draws causing this problem. Reg

Reg, Not likely however the entire connected load that goes through the switch does impact the draw that is negotiated through the switch.

This problem has been addressed by a relay kit which greatly removes the connected load and only a control circuit remains to energize the relay.
