Question 2012 Thor Serrano problem shifting into Park

I have a 2012 Thor Serrano 34M with the Maxxforce 7 and Allison 6 speed transmission. This is built on a W22 Workforce chassis. The problem I am having is at times it is difficult to get it into Park. Is there an adjustment that can be made by the steering column acess panel or underneath at the transmission? Or, should I take it to a transmission shop?

You should have the Allison MH1000 series transmission in that vehicle. There is a shift linkage that does require periodic adjustment. If you want, Google Allison 1000 series maintenance or Allison 1000 series shift linkage adjustment. The information on now to adjust that shift linkage is readily available on the internet. It basically involves making sure the pin in the shift lever can be freely removed in each selector range.

I believe the problem lies in the shift cable linkage. Is anyione familar with the adjustment on that? The Shift lever in the cab has about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch slop in it.

Just an FYI, but since you have the MF7 your chassis is actually called a W22D, and it was made by Workhorse.

If you want to post the last 8 digits (only) of your chassis vin #, I can determine exactly which Tranny you have, but I'm thinking it isn't the 1000 used in their gassers.

Thanks for your help. Joe's Auto. Rv and Truck in Lake Havasu City, AZ. was able to find the problem. There is a square shaft that fits into the automatic transmission module in the steering column assembly. It was causing all of the slop so they recut a new shaft and it fixed the problem beautifully. If you are ever passing through or wintering in this area and need work done, they are definitely the place to go. Happy Rving to all!
